The BHA attends the Energy Innovation Summit on 31 October 2023

The BHA attended a two-day event hosted by the Energy Networks Association in Liverpool. Our CEO, Kate Gilmartin, presented and chaired a panel on ‘Energy Storage for a Brighter Future: Whole Systems Storage in the Spotlight’, which looked at how storage will be key to energy flexibility and reliability when achieving net zero.

The BHA presentation focused on the need for more pumped storage hydropower and also the potential for more storage hydro. We covered why storage is needed, the benefits it will bring and the longevity of hydropower. A key point our presentation focused on was that diversity is needed and lowest cost does not always mean best value.
